I’D EAT PEACHES EVERY DAY

Who are we? Crumbs is a free, high-quality monthly magazine dedicated to celebrating the best food and drink businesses in the Cotswolds. Expect a mix of recipes, reviews, interviews and advice each issue; you’ll find us at local pubs, restaurants, delis and foodie emporiums across the region.

JUST PEACHY: THAT’S how we’re feeling this issue. The sunny season is in full swing, daily ice creams are allowed (without judgement, naturally) and picnics are obligatory. Who needs a bikini bod? Not us! Although, if you are looking to make your diet a tad more healthy this summer you won’t go far wrong with our latest issue. For a start, our hero ingredient, the juicy peach, has always made for deliciously decadent (yet pleasingly virtuous) alternative to chocolate/crisps/gin (delete your poison as appropriate). We just won’t mention all of the naughty things it tastes best with… We also have a bit of a barbecue special on our hands. After learning all of the tricks of the trade from Henry Herbert at his new cookery school in Chipping Sodbury we were inspired – so we’ve not only dug out the best barbecue kit and grill eats, but we also held a suitably alfresco Crumbs Supper Club in Purton, with possibly the biggest barbecue we’ve ever seen! (Think you’ve got bigger? Send us your pics on Twitter or FB.) And our resident culinary columnist, Robert Goves, has even given us his ultimate recipe for sticky chicken wings. (Thanks, Rob!) But we’re not the only ones who like eating and cooking outside – apparently it’s the favourite pastime of one Blur bassist too. We’ve been finding out all of the gossip from Alex James ahead of The Big Feastival at the end of this month. We’ve got our tickets; have you got yours?
