OFF THE RECORD

We explore the working day of… Marilena Papacosta, Tecmo Koei

How do you get to work? I lazily drive up the A1 listening to a mixture of XFM and BBC Radio Leicester because the frequencies mix up.

What’s the last thing you do? I refresh my email and if there’s anything new I shut off the PC and run out as fast as possible

What’s the best part about your typical day? When I go home? Or when we play ‘shoot the ninja’ to decide who makes the next round of tea. It involves a Nerf shotgun and some ninja nesting dolls (see example above right).

What’s the first thing you do at work? Make tea. There is no life before tea.

What’s the worst part? Writing report after report knowing they will probably not be read thoroughly.

How do you unwind in the evenings? Cooking, playing games or watching TV. I’m currently enjoying Orange is the New Blackand re-runs of Doctor Who.

“Develop games in Italy,” cries the cover of Trade Interactive Multimedia(right), Italy’s answer to MCV. The following blurb says: “The software houses of our country are trying to stand out in an increasingly crowded market. Developers explain what tools to use, how to manage relationships with publishers and the difficult balance between creativity and practicality.” None of which explains the giant naked woman on the cover.
