Calgary Stampede A venue with true Western hospitality and true pride of place

Versatile venue The Stampede Corral, with a 17,000-square-foot arena floor and an 8,000-square-foot concourse, is one of the Calgary Stam- pede’s most flexible venues, playing host to everything from rodeos to ice-skating parties.

Hot spot The Calgary Stampede’s BMO (formerly Roundup) Centre is one of the busiest facilities of its kind in North America, hosting ap- proximately 700,000 attendees year round. Spaces include five exhibit halls totaling 250,000 total square feet, a theater, and numerous meeting rooms — all of which feature full audiovisual services and support.

The Calgary Stampede might be famous for its rollicking rodeos and cowboys, but at its core the Stampede Park is a gathering place that has hosted, educated, and entertained global audiences for more than a hundred years. In Downtown Calgary, with more than half a million square feet of space and the unique ability to host any event imaginable, Stampede Park’s indoor spaces range from elegant, state-of-the-art meeting rooms to flexible, fully equipped exhibition halls. For presentations and smaller events, the Boyce Theatre and Rotary House provide intimate yet comfortable atmospheres, while venues like the Grandstand, Stampede Corral arena, and other outdoor spaces are equipped to accommodate larger events. The BMO (formerly Roundup) Centre has

long been Calgary’s largest and most versa- tile event venue. The building’s appearance and style reflect its Western heritage, but also

project a cosmopolitan air representative of Calgary today. The facility’s meeting and con- vention space is plentiful and varied, includ- ing 250,000 square feet of exhibition space, a 500-seat theater, a 17,000-square-foot Corral, and numerous breakout spaces and meeting rooms. Put it all together and the BMO Centre is ideal for events of all kinds, from the largest convention or consumer trade show to a gala banquet or private board meeting. The facil- ity is also directly connected to the city’s light- rail transit station, and drive-in attendees and exhibitors can take advantage of more than 2,500 on-site parking spaces. In 2014, the Calgary Stampede will open

a brand-new venue — the Agrium Western Event Centre. The 150,000-square-foot agri- cultural showcase and competition venue will be the largest of its kind in Canada, and will triple the amount of space avail- able for agriculture, commerce, education,

and entertainment events in Stampede Park. A 31,250-square-foot main arena, a 20,000-square-foot multipurpose hall, hos- pitality venues, and interactive educational experiences will round out the offerings. Events of all kinds — from concerts to rodeos to conventions — will be accommodated on the main arena floor.
