ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS Rovio
Somewhere, in a country not far away, the developer of a mobile success story secured rights the biggest sci-fi film series going. Angry Birds Star Wars is Rovio’s riff on the sci-fi saga, and included many of the films’ iconic heroes and villains along with the gameplay from the original iOS smash hit.
DMC: DEVIL MAY CRY Ninja Theory
Ninja Theory was met by harsh comments from ‘impassioned’ Devil May Cry fans when its reboot was unveiled in 2010. Sporting skinny jeans and an emo attitude, Dante had been reimagined for a new audience of gamers. The development team saw its vision through, and the new DmCreceived encouraging reviews when it was released at start of 2013.
LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER TT Games
LEGO City Undercover is the biggest shift for the toy franchise and its series of hit children’s games for some time. Developed exclusively for the Wii U, City Undercover features GTA-style gameplay and a cast of cheeky plastic characters. The level designs and humour were notable favourites among its players.
LITTLEBIGPLANET VITA Tarsier Studios
Swedish studio Tarsier took excellent care of Sony’s LittleBigPlanet IP with its PS Vita version. The game holds an impressive Metacritic average of 88, which not only makes it one of the top five highest scoring PS Vita titles of all time, but one of highest ranked console games ever developed in Sweden.
MAGIC 2013 Stainless Games
Stainless were tasked by Wizards of the Coast, in 2009, to come up with a digital version that would introduce new people to its long- running Magic: The Gathering card game. Magic 2013 continued its previous successes with a new iPad version, which was the third- highest rated Metacritic iPad title in 2012.

SONIC & ALL-STARS RACING TRANSFORMED Sumo Digital
The All-Stars debuted in 2008 as part of Sega Superstars Tennis, incorporating many of the key characters and worlds from throughout Sega’s history, such as Ulala, Nights and Beat. Shifting the action to kart racing, the latest iteration Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed received convincing reviews from the press.
THE SNOWMAN AND THE SNOWDOG Crash Lab
Based on the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ beloved children’s tale, Crash Lab’s interactive recreation of The Snowman and the Snowdoghit the top of the App Store charts for a fortnight over Christmas, and was downloaded over 700,000 times ahead of the transmission of the short on Christmas Eve.
WONDERBOOK: BOOK OF SPELLS London Studio
Emerging from a collaboration with JK Rowling, Book of Spells represents one of the most original crossovers between games and what is possibly the biggest ever UK-created IP. The title blends augmented reality with new material written by Rowling herself to bring the Harry Potter universe to life.
