Dimensional Imaging made its breakthrough into the video games market in 2009 with Valve using a DI3D system to capture facial expressions of real life talent for Left for Dead 2. It now counts major studios such as Electronic Arts and Sony Computer Entertainment among its customers.


GAMEMAKER YoYo Games


GameMaker has been used in academia since 1999. Today, more than 20,000 professional developers in studios across the globe are using the paid product to create games. Another million are using the free version. Last year, the company performed an almost complete rewrite of the engine.


HITMAN ABSOLUTION – CROWD TECH IO Interactive


IO Interactive made a big deal about its crowd technology and its role in making NPCs behave in a believe manner on-screen in its latest Hitman title. The studio bested Ubisoft Montreal’s efforts by raising crowd simulation to 500 on- screen characters and 1,200 controlled individuals.


JUST DANCE TV Ubisoft Reflections


Taking user-generated content in a bizarre and hilarious new direction is Just Dance TV. This social video sharing platform was conceived and created entirely by the team at Ubisoft Reflections. It has had over one million video uploads since October 2012, three million views and over 30k videos shared on Facebook.


MARMALADE JUICE Marmalade


Marmalade’s mission is to give developers the means to get their games on as many platforms as possible. It latest development, Marmalade Quick allows games coded in the Lua scripting language, and has already managed to bring its own in-house game Signal to the Stars to four app stores.


OCULUS RIFT Oculus VR


Virtual reality has been a dream of gamers for decades, but the available technology has always fallen short of the experience gamers craved. Oculus VR has been working to make that a reality with its Oculus Rift development kit, which is enabling developers to create completely new gaming experiences.


UNREAL ENGINE Epic Games


Many technical feats have been achieved with Unreal Engine. In the last 12 months Epic has enhanced its engine with new tools and brought it to new development platforms, such as HTML5. And with UE4, it’s bringing a completely new set of tools to make high-end development more efficient.


WONDERBOOK London Studio


Sony’s Wonderbook sets a new benchmark in augmented reality. Along with a physical book, the computer vision technology behind the game provides a level of robustness in tracking virtual objects, surpassing anything seen before on the market.
