Huss in China
With the exception of a King Kong ride about to open at Vialand near Istanbul, almost all of Huss Park Attractions’ imminent ride deliveries will be to China.
A package of four attractions is destined for the
Romon World project in Ningbo near Shanghai, namely a 38-seat suspended Top Spin, 42- metre/40-seat Giant Frisbee, 12-car/24-seat Break Dance and a Pirate Ship, accommodating

between 45 and 55 passengers. A new safari park in Chong Qing (Sichuan
Province) will get a suspended Top Spin in addition to a 24-seat King Kong. The latter will feature special effects to enhance the experience, including sound, mist, shining eyes and vibrating seats. In adddition to the Break Dance and Pirate Ship, another old classic making a comeback is the Condor, a ride with which Huss enjoyed great success during the ‘80s and ‘90s when it used to manufacture in Germany. As many as 30 rides were sold in this time, but then along came tower rides such as the S&S Space Shot (and indeed Huss’ own Shot ‘n’ Drop) and arguably it lost its edge. Nevertheless, two updated versions of the rides, featuring a 26-metre-tall tower, are set for delivery to China in 2014. Huss CEO Mirko J Schulze believes the ride has renewed potential. “We decided to reintroduce the Condor as Condor 2-G (second generation) as we see high market potential for this kind of ride,” he says. “It has a broad family appeal, is an eye-catching structure and combines both an observation and ride experience. It also has a small footprint but a high capacity which we are sure will appeal to
Giant Frisbee
parks of all sizes.” A stalled project from several years ago, a 120-
metre-tall Sky Tower observation ride is due begin installation this month at China Dinosaur Park in Changzhou.
