Bass Modulators Requi3m (Hard Bass
2013 Yellow Theme) Scantraxx 8.0
Yes, I know what you’re thinking — yet another hardstyle mega rave anthem. Well, yes it is, but this really captures the mood and anticipation of this legendary event.
DJ Husband & Dark By Design
The Beat Friction Records 8.0
A meeting of two great minds on this track: king of the hard trance melodies Dark By Design and Australian newcomer DJ Husband. This won’t disappoint fans of either, delivering an upfront slab of offbeat bassline-
driven, melodic hard trance goodness.
Ruthless
Cool DWX Bounce 8.0
The king of the jump is back. Hard beats, quirky leads and unexpected twists and turns are the order of the day. Super original, love it!
Toneshifterz
Last Night Fusion 8.0 The Aussie hardstyle duo are back with this anthem, repping their trademark sounds. Hands-in-the-air hard beats for the win!
Lose Control 2.0 Dirty Workz
10
Audiofreq is one of the handful of next generation hardstyle producers to have sailed the seven seas (well, caught two flights), to migrate to the home of the sound in the Netherlands. Recently signed to the hardstyle powerhouse Dirty Workz, his latest EP gives us a little taste of everything: anthemic, ruff and old skool. My pick of the bunch ticks the “ruff” box. ‘Lose Control’ quite literally explains the arrangement of the track from the perspective of the dancefloor. Devastating stuff!
DJ KUTSKI
kutski@mac.com 9.0
From his forthcoming album ‘Strength’, this track is a balls-out hardcore stomper of serious proportions. The trademark distorted Dutch hardcore (gabba) kick is present, along with the high BPM. The vocal is a tongue- in-cheek sample, in the form of an open letter to all the keyboard warriors out there. This makes a great album track, but also, with the catchy melody and bouncy pace, this won’t be lost on the dancefloor.

Korsakoff sound.”

Forgotten)’ Masters of Hardcore “My uncle passed away in 2012 and ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ from U2 was one of his favourite tracks.”

the harder stuff!” 068
Raw hardstyle trio Donkey Rollers return with a new EP on Fusion, keeping the beats rough and abrasive. This features a great male vocal by DV8, with a heavy metal vibe in the main break, keeping an eerie undertone with clever synth lines, before dropping into anthemic, twisted melodies. Essential hard beats!
Dr Rude
Burn In Hell Dirty Workz Bounce 9.0
What do you do to shut up all the haters on your YouTube videos? Clearly the best idea is to re- record quotes from them and put them into your new track! This is an absolutely genius,tongue-in- cheek idea, showing how much of a good sport Dr Rude is, but also has turned out to be a killer jump- style track, with a huge main melody and a seriously heavy, nasty drop...
Frontliner
Come On Keep It Up Music 9.0
The king of melodies returns on his ever-growing Keep It Up Music label, which has delivered hit after hit since its launch last year, and this release certainly doesn’t disappoint! Keeping elements hard and heavy either side of the main breakdown whilst letting

the catchy melodies take centre place in the main drop, those Frontliner happy sounds run throughout. Proves again why this guy deserves to be in the Top 100 DJs poll and at the forefront of the scene.
G-Style Brothers
Dark Noises TBC 7.0
Representing the dark underground beats from Germany, the G-Style Brothers are here with an EP full of beats to scare more clubbers onto the dancefloor. Distinct dark melodies, heavy kick fills and detuned synths make this an evil one, but the energy of the beats and percussion keeps you locked like a horror film — you just can’t look away. Great release from this rising German act!
Mystery
Losing Control Dutch Master Works 7.5
This legendary Dutch hardstyle label has been upping its release schedule in 2013, pumping out some solid releases. This new single from German hardstyle act Mystery ticks all the boxes for the fresh nu style sound, with elastic kicks and catchy melodies, and great chopped up vocals in the intro and outro section, adding serious energy to the groove.
Nosferatu
Hate Me Like A Pro Enzyme
Without You CLSM 8.0 A new talent on the scene, Sam B, despite his young age, comes with a serious nod to the sounds of the past. This breakbeat hardcore affair is energy to the max, with ravey stabs, old skool happy hardcore pianos, pitched-up rap samples, and the obligatory loved-up female vocal. Despite being a full-on retro track, this still sounds fresh, and the production level leaves it standing up to the tracks of today.
Scott Attril
Electric Dreaming Noize Recordings 7.5
One of the UK’s longest-serving producers on the harder scene delivers his brand-new artist album ‘Neon Disco Soldiers’ this year, packed full of his hard elektrik sounds. This is my pick of the bunch — a killer electro lead bassline with clever use of pitch slide runs up to the breakdown, before breaking into a huge stadium-sized main melody, dropping with some hard house- influenced power.
Tatanka
Don’t Give Up Zanzalabs 8.5
The Italian hardstyler is back with a fresh track for us. Very much in tune with the current sound of the scene — big kicks and a fast pace — but also keeping true to the musical elements we’ve come to love from Tatanka. With twinkly pianos in the break, a euphoric melody, and a vocal to match, this track gives you all the hardstyle sustenance you need on the dancefloor.
