SEPTEMBER 1 – LABOUR DAY WEEKEND W/ MISTRESS BARBARA, JIMMY BE & ANDRES VELILLA

For this year’s labour day weekend, Piknic couldn’t have picked a better lineup to leave our problems at the offi ce and celebrate the achievement of our hard working lifestyles and bring out our inner party animals! This year’s headliner, recognized as one of Montreal’s favourite daughters, Misstress Barbara’s productions are notorious for mixing hard beats into techno that ranges from funky and pumpin’ to groovy, techy and minimal. A true Montreal legend, Barbara is ready to take us to the next level alongside both opening DJs, Andres Velilla and Jimmy Be!

Andres Velilla’s musical genre is dissociated by funky beats, nice melodies and low characteristic sounds. He carried his musical style through South America, Europe, USA and Canada. Known for his chameleon-like style, Velilla mixes deep house, tech house, techno, minimal tech, progressive house and house which can be played as much in an urban cinq a sept as it can in some of the craziest underground parties!

Jimmy Be, the 22 year old Montreal DJ/Producer is also a much anticipated guest this year as he will be popping his “Piknic Cherry” for the very fi rst time! Sweeping the East Coast of Canada for the past two years at an incredible speed, Jimmy Be is not planning on stopping anytime soon. This tech-house artist stays true to the genre with his infl uences of jazz, blues, tribal and Latin fl avours and has been known as having a “big-room sound”, blessing the ears of anyone crossing his path.

SEPTEMBER 2 – LABOUR DAY WEEKEND W/ DUSKY, EATS EVERYTHING & AZAMAT B.

The party keeps going the next day when the sounds of deep house take over, following the techno treat on the 1st. One of the genre’s most notorious purveyors, Bristol-based Eats Everything arrives in one of his only Canadian dates of the summer to bring the low-end frequencies into the spotlight at Montreal’s picnic

At the forefront of the cutting edge deep house scene, this combo will bring the freshest fl avours of east London straight into Jean-Drapeau parc for Labour Day weekend, supported by groove master Montrealer Azamat B. Leave all genre expectations at the gates because Azamat will mix everything from deep house and techno, to R&B and rap in his opening slot.
