New reporting date for Good Florist Guide

It’s completely free, it’s easy to apply for (but not necessarily easy to attain!) and it’s the ONLY truly independent verifi cation of fl orist shops in the UK. The Good Florist Guide gives all fl orist shops and businesses the chance to apply for the prestigious logo and use it as a sign that they are a shop that can and does go the extra mile. Launched by Caroline Marshall-Foster, one of the

most respected faces in the industry, the scheme is now being re-vamped so that accreditation straddles the peaks to make it even more valuable. Commenting on the move Emily Dickerson, who heads up the application process, said: “Historically the accreditation period has run January to December. But that meant fl orists already in GFG had to renew in November – a pain with Christmas looming whilst Jan/Feb weren’t much better given the next round of peaks. As a result shops couldn’t technically use the dated logo or if they did looked as if they were out of date and no longer as good! “We knew that wasn’t the case so we’ve

accreditation. Free to apply for, the scheme requires applicants to complete a portfolio* for their business which is then assessed and critiqued by a panel headed up by Caroline. If the shop meets the criteria then a GFG dated roundel is issued and which can be used on all promotional material. In addition GFG shops are included on the stylish goodfl oristguide. com website. Each year GFG holders have to renew their accreditation. Emily said: “GFG isn’t a relay or an association but
