Never try to remove lily pollen from clothes with your fi ngers… the natural oils in your skin will set the pollen on fabric, rather than remove it! Instead use cellotape to lift the pollen, using a fresh piece each time. The easiest way to de-pollinate a fl ower before delivery is to use a wet wipe or damp tissue as the stamens will stick the surface and simply slide off.


Make yourself a "white double" bible. Every design I make... be it a wreath, cross, pillow (all sizes), Gates of Heaven, fi sh, Blackpool tower, shark, domino etc... I log down how many stems I used, noting if it was heavy or light in heads. You can adapt this to other new designs not made before or reference back to similar and it not only saves the guess work on ordering but pricing as well. I couldn't function without it!!!


Use the small plastic phials that come with orchids for sticking hyacinths in oasis.
