Gigahertz-Optik Introduces Uniform Light Source
Newburyport, MA — Gigahertz- Optik has introduced a new model integrating sphere light source, ISS- 8P-HP, which reportedly provides uniformity equal to or better than 98 percent within 90 percent of its out- put port. The new source also pro- vides a H-M-L (High, Medium, Low) setting of intensity level using inter- changeable attenuators. This quick three-setting adjustment of light level is highly desirable in produc- tion comparison applications. The integrating sphere light
source provides for uniform and vari- able light output, necessary for cali- bration light source standards used for PRNU (Photo-Response Non- Uniformity) comparison of imaging
AC/DC Power Supply from
PSU Inc.
Wrentham, MA — Power Sources Unlimited, Inc. has introduced the new XL330-54 AC/DC power supply with high power density and ultra- high efficiency all within a very small footprint. This unit provides an excellent solution in Power-over- Ethernet (PoE) applications by sav- ing space, cutting costs, and improv- ing system reliability. The 1.35-in. (34.3mm) high open-frame XL330-54 has a 3.0 x 5.3-
systems and sensors. The ISS-8P-HP is built around an 8cm diameter integrating test
sphere made from the company’s highly diffuse reflective and stable synthetic ODM98 coating with a 19mm diameter light output port. Its light source design offers selectable 10 to 100W QH lamps and three manually interchangeable neutral density filters with optical densities corresponding to 100 percent, 10 per- cent and 1 percent light throughput for fast H-M-L adjustment of light output. According to the company, this

configuration results in faster adjust- ments compared to using variable
aperture devices; plus, the ISS-8P-HP hole pattern design attenuator mini- mizes color temperature drift. A fan is supplied to air-cool the
lamp socket to ensure lamp life and system stability. Optional accessory components include the company’s LPS series high resolution lamp power supply, optometer with an illuminance, luminance or illumi-
nance and color monitor detector. Contact: Gigahertz-Optik, Inc.,

in. (76 x 135mm) footprint that deliv- ers a power density of 15W/in3 with only 13CFM cooling. This represents a space savings of 32 percent com- pared to typical 1U units with simi- lar rating. Its maximum full-load efficiency of 90 percent, achieved through synchronous rectification, Or-ing MOSFETs and a unique active PFC design, means that the XL330-54 generates less heat than most comparable power supplies — minimizing cooling requirements and improving system reliability. The XL330-54 has two primary
outputs: 54V/6.1A and 12V/9A, plus a 12V/1A auxiliary output. Other key features include universal AC input (90 to 264VAC) and active inrush cur- rent protection of 10.5A at 240VAC, which does not change during opera- tion, SCP, OVP and OPP. The new XL330-54 is RoHS-compliant and meets all major international safety and EMC requirements. PSUI is the ISO 9001:2008 North America
