Omron Showcases 3D SPI, AOI, and AXI Systems

Schaumburg, IL — Omron Inspection Systems displayed its new VT-S500 3D Post-Reflow machine and VT- X700 In-Line Automated X-Ray Inspection System at IPC APEX 2013. Using 3D image processing, the high speed VT-S500 analyzes topographical features of solder fil- lets, performing inspections that closely mimic IPC guidelines. The machine is available with camera magnifications of 10 or 15 microns and is capable of processing single lane PCBs up to 510mm x 610mm

Automated optical inspection (AOI) system.

New from ECD Factory-Wide Monitoring System Slims MSD and ESD RiskofDamage

Milwaukie, OR — ECD launches its latest product to reduce the risk of MSD- and ESD-related defects. The system is called Sensor WATCH™, and is said to be the first factory- wide humidity and temperature monitoring system that provides customer audit protection, delivers 24/7/365 access to factory conditions worldwide, and eliminates time-con- suming manual record keeping. Moisture can adversely affect almost everything in an electronics

and dual lane PCBs up to 510mm x 300mm. Advan ced software capable of absorb- ing production incon sis - tencies and noise creates adaptable inspection pro- grams.

The VT-X700 uses pre-

cision, X-ray, CT imaging to perform precise analysis of PCBs. With X-ray technolo- gy, the VT-X700 can inspect solder quality on a full range of components from BGAs to chips and through-

hole devices. Selectable resolutions of 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 microns com- bined with selectable numbers of X- ray projections (up to 128) allow higher inspection speeds for produc- tion environments or ultra-high quality 3D image acquisition for

research and defect analysis. Contact: Omron Inspection

manufacturing environment and cause corrosion, poor solder paste performance, as well as delamina- tion and internal cracking at the component level. SensorWATCH measures and records temperature and humidity to comply with stan- dards developed to prevent MSD- and ESD-related defects. SensorWATCH has audit pro-

tection for continuous monitoring, logging, and recording of factory- wide humidity and temperature lev- els, providing on-demand customer audit report data. It provides any- time, anywhere access to humidity and temperature data in any compa- ny facility, for any monitored process area on any internet-enabled device. Traceability is achieved by its Triple-source Guard Dog protection which guarantees no data loss secu- rity and allows instant response to requests.
