Q. A.

ask your co-op Pole numbers help CEC locate you Missing account number? Use the pole number, instead.

I just got a new job and I have to travel a lot away from home. How can I keep up with my bills so I don’t miss a payment?

Many of us operate on different schedules nowadays, which is why Choctaw Electric offers

several ways for members to pay their electric bill. For those who want to know their bill is paid, but would rather not mess with the process of writing checks, mailing bills, etc., our automatic draft program is ideal. When you enroll in the automatic draft plan, the amount of your monthly bill is drafted from the account of your choice (checking, saving or credit card) every month. You will continue to receive a billing statement in the mail for your review and record keeping. Members who use automatic draft love this program because they can go on vacation or leave town without worrying about an overdue bill.

Another option is to use CEC’s secure online bill payment service. You can log on, view your account, check your usage, and pay your bill from any location at any time of day. You can also pay by phone with a debit or credit card by calling Choctaw Electric Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm.

You can find plenty of information on bill payment options, plus enrollment forms for the automatic draft plan, online at www.choctawelectric.coop, or call us at 800-780-6486.

Members who call to report service problems have an option if they can’t locate their account number: Use the pole number instead. Your pole number is located on the electric pole nearest your home. The pole number begins with a letter and reads from left to right. You will also notice a small metal tag with a number on it. That’s your pole tag, and you can use that number, too. Your co-op can locate your service using either number.

If you’re unable to locate your pole number, another option

is to use your meter for the five digit meter number.

Meter number, pole number and pole tag numbers help Choctaw Electric accurately pinpoint your service location. When you can’t locate your account number, providing one of these numbers can help us respond and repair your service quicker.

Cabin owners are urged to post these numbers, along with CEC’s telephone number, for visitors who may need to report a power outage.
