rab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s talk. Whether you’re holding Oklahoma Living in your hands or reading it via a mobile device or on a computer, we want you to enjoy your experience and feel ‘at home.’ For 65 years, Oklahoma Living has been serving member-owners of electric cooperatives in the Sooner State with a true commitment to the cooperative spirit. Boasting a circulation of nearly 317,000, our mission has been to inform and educate Oklahoma’s consumer-members about energy industry trends, energy saving tips, co-ops’ services and developments as well as to highlight the lifestyle and endeavors of our neighbors.

The dynamics of our membership have changed through the years. Our pioneers brought light to rural areas that would have otherwise remained in the dark because investor-owned utilities would not bring power to sparsely populated areas. But electric cooperatives not only brought electricity to rural dwellings—they empowered rural communities by bringing hope for a brighter future. Today, Oklahoma’s electric cooperatives serve nearly 500,000 Oklahomans who live in areas of the state that have fl ourished with economic development opportunities and a better quality of life. These new generations of members have distinctive needs and

a different pace of life than our pioneering members did decades ago. That’s why Oklahoma Living brings to you an in- teractive digital edition and an app accessible through both Apple and Android devices. We want to keep pace with you, our readers. The digital tools we are about to introduce to you are not meant—in any way—to replace the print edition of the maga- zine. On the contrary: we offer these tools simply to enrich the reader’s experience. Although we real- ize there are many of us who enjoy holding the paper copy of a magazine in our hands, there is a new generation—thriving in our midst—that prefers communicating through electronic devices. We want to reach them, too—because each member is important.
