TVBEurope 51 Adobe Creative Cloud updated By Carolyn Giardina

ADOBE IS demonstrating updates to the video tools in its Creative Cloud, which includes new capabilities for Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC, SpeedGrade CC, Prelude CC, Media Encoder CC and Story. “To date we’ve had great success with Creative Cloud. Professional video is a dynamic industry where things change fast and video pros now have the opportunity to receive updates the moment they are ready and scale usage to suit the project at hand,” said Bill Roberts, director of video product management at Adobe. “The new technology highlights Ultra HD workflows, enabling greater creative control and leveraging more of the collaboration power in Adobe Anywhere for Video, as well as Creative Cloud.” The upcoming Creative Cloud updates improve 5K and Ultra

HD workflow via the Mercury Playback Engine, now used to accelerate compute-heavy functions such as de-bayering. Also new is the Lumetri Deep Colour Engine in SpeedGrade and Premiere Pro and new Mask Tracker in After Effects. The update also provides a

direct link between Premiere Pro and its SpeedGrade colour grading tool. Additionally, the Mercury Playback Engine now is also available to third party developers, Adobe Media Encoder can sync preferences and shared output settings, and new production planning features in Story make it a single reference point for all pre-production workflow. Additionally users can now

view productions and play back sequences on the Anywhere server from the field or a remote location using a new Adobe Anywhere iPad App. 7.G27

PLUS-Pak STACs up

By David Fox

THE NEW PLUS-Pak add- on for Comrex STAC-VIP IP phone-in systems adds useful Caller Line Identification logging and call management that can be linked to an external address database for integrated operation with other systems. The CLI Management

avoids the need for a dedicated computer for caller management and will allow users to see if the caller called previously, and what they talked about. PLUS-Pak is included in

all STAC-VIP systems supplied by Vortex giving them full STAC-VIP+ capability. Instead of connecting to standard PSTN lines, the STAC-VIP uses VoIP connectivity. 11.G11
