AEQ new-look Forum The Forum compact digital audio console, a self-contained system now with Audio-over-IP which has been designed for all types of radio and television on-air broadcasting applications, is on show from AEQ.

The key to Forum’s success, AEQ says, is its flexible, modular design; and because it now has a reduced footprint, it is said to be a lot easier to adapt to any on-air job. According to AEQ, Forum is very easily adaptable to any broadcast environment, be it auto-control, studio control, television production, sound production, mixed configurations, or integration in large installations. It is simple to control and boasts significant power which the company claims makes it suitable for the most basic to the most advanced requirements. The console’s control surface can be configured with a minimum of four faders, and is expandable to either eight or even 12 channels with its standard chassis. And if you need that bit more, users can opt for the Grand Forum chassis, which expands the mixer to 20 freely-assignable fader channels. 8.C55

XDT latest Catapult on show XDT is showcasing the latest version of its flagship Catapult line for networked media transfers and review, which includes simplified fast access to cloud-based storage via NFS and CIFS.

With broadcasters and post facilities increasingly moving towards decentralising their data and accessing storage as a service, Catapult Bridge is designed to bridge the gap between common network protocols and high speed WAN transfer protocols.

It offers direct access to cloud- based or remote storage via NFS and Samba protocols, eliminating the use of custom client applications or watch folder workflows to transfer data over WAN networks.

The latest version v4.2 software of Catapult includes integration for Amazon EC2 and S3 platforms to efficiently front-end cloud systems and storage via the Catapult protocol.

“Broadcasters and post facilities can now access cloud-based storage the same way they are using local storage,” said Erik Otto, CEO at XDT. 7.J07
