THE ADMINISTRATIVE headquarters of Volksbank in the German city of Braunschweig has unveiled a 150sqm three-sided media façade – known to the locals as the ‘Toblerone’ – on the roof of its 60m-high office building in BraWoPark. The spectacular installation boasts 350,000 individual LEDs to illuminate the roof with creative moving images and is designed to add to the environment of the Central Train Station below. It was implemented by ICT Innovative Communication Technologies AG (Kohlberg). The ICT team installed LED
display surfaces suitable for daylight and outdoor applications in the nine sections of the roof crown. Complex control technology, also programmed and installed by ICT, ensures images are adapted for ambient conditions and energy-efficient operation of the system.
