Waterfall Audio developed its Victoria Evo floorstanding speaker range in partnership with French loudspeaker specialist Atohm. A new generation of Atohm’s drivers – including the medium/bass drivers (LD 150), a tweeter (SD20) and a passive driver for deep bass (UFR 210) – has been incorporated into the range. Each enclosure is fixed into 6mm of high-density Krysta-line Glass, which not only provides an aesthetically pleasing addition to any room’s interior, but ensures clarity of audio as the sturdy material helps eliminate unwanted vibrations from the loudspeaker. The three-way, four-speaker design uses Waterfall patented ADT (acoustic damping tube) technology, which allows the loudspeaker to function in a non- dampened structure. The company says this helps guarantee quick, sharp bass and mid-range production. What's more, the treble frequency
is reproduced by a new generation of neodymium magnet tweeters, while the crossovers have been enhanced by the company’s Acculiner technology, which controls the tuning of the driver units. Poland-based integrator ART Cinema recently specified the
Victoria Evo speakers for a modern, minimalist residential install. Greg Augustyn from ART Cinema, commented: “The transparency of the Waterfall speakers makes lighting scenes in the room even more interesting. The Victoria devices create a wow effect: both of the loudspeakers are placed near the room’s windows, with one of them visible upon approach to the house. The investor was delighted by the final design effect, as well as the acoustic performance.” www.waterfallaudio.com

Artcoustic makes SL Series an art
Artcoustic lives up to its name with the SL Series, which offers conventional loudspeaker technology intertwined with modern, artistic finishes. Each system has been designed to accommodate a custom overlay: art, pictures and fabrics can be placed over the surface of the speakers to ensure they blend in with their environment. To do this, Artcoustic offers a diverse range of designs and finishes as part of the series.
The ultra-slim (67mm deep), lightweight cabinet design also makes for a simple install, and the cabinets are provided in either black or white. Each speaker features
Symmetrically Controlled Beamwidth Array – an in-house analogue loudspeaker technology which enables control of directivity on both
vertical and horizontal axes. The technology makes it possible to achieve very high sound pressure levels without the use of compression horns. The company says this creates very low distortion with low power consumption, producing flat frequency response, yet still maintaining the desired typical horn qualities, such as directivity and throw. For example, a
conventional hi-fi loudspeaker with 88dB efficiency would require more power than most speakers could handle to deliver an output; the 180- 43SL can deliver this with just 3.5W. With this kind of
headroom in the system, dynamics are said to be effortless, resulting in low distortion levels for the amplifier. www.artcoustic.com
