PUSH FOR EQUALITY I enjoyed Ben Stein’s article, “We’ve Made Great Strides Against Bigotry,” which appeared in the January issue. Since I am the same age as Stein, it brought back memories of my hometown of Somerville, N.J. Somerville was a very liberal community and way ahead on equality.

GOP, SOCIAL ISSUES John Mercurio’s article, “The Grand Old Party’s Brand-Next Generation,” published in the January issue, mentions younger conservatives are trending away from social conservative issues.
But social conservatives need
to articulate their ideas better. For example, pro-lifers should do more to promote adoption over abortions. Also, if same-sex marriage is permitted, religious organizations that simply choose not to perform them due to their convictions should not be forced to do so. timothy mark kutz Helena, Mont.
