DJ Mag Canada first met Paris & Simo at Escapade Music Festival in Ottawa this summer. Moving the dance floor with veteran precision, this young DJ/producer duo from Montreal grabbed our attention, so we decided to find out more. Joining forces in 2008, Paris & Simo have been recognized by some of electronic dance music’s elite including Tiësto, Hardwell, and Bob Sinclar, including radio show features in the legendary Clublife podcast, Thomas Gold’s Fanfare radio show, and John Dahlback’s Mutant radio show among many more. With a wide range of originals and remixes under their belt, these guys are gaining momentum as their tunes make the rounds across North America and Europe.
Paris & Simo have played at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in Canada, with some international dates starting to pop up on their calendar as well, including recent shows in Las Vegas, New York and San Francisco. Their latest release Nova on Revealed Records is an instant big-room favourite, featuring an addictive plucking chord pattern, deep driving bassline, and a huge happy progressive melody.
We caught up with Paris & Simo in their hometown of Montreal for a quick chat and some shenanigans. In this exclusive video interview we talk about their evolving sound and what inspires their productions, while hinting at a few upcoming releases.
