Unofficial technomonth, Toronto

IN one on this fall’s longest North American tours, Kelowna native Datsik brings labelmates from his Firepower imprint on the road for more than 50 dates of bass-dropping madness and dizzying visuals from his new custom vortex DJ booth powered by V-Squared labs. Delta Heavy, Terravita, Bare Noize, XKR, and more young guns are all along for the ride, which takes a 5 date stop in Canada to finish up the tour among friends and family. Make sure to catch Troy on any of these final stops, where he’ll be leaving it all on stage as the three month marathon comes to a close. If you’re in the area, definitely do not miss out on the homecoming show in Kelowna on November 16th where the party is sure to go full throttle for the hometown bass hero.

IN a city that is already busting techno at the seams year round, November can only be described as “technomonth” in Toronto. Focusing on just one go-to event was impossible and you’re about to see why. Fresh off of having techno monster Speedy J for Halloween, underground staple Footwork alone has the likes of Carlo Lio (Nov 2) Ripperton (Nov 3) Marco Carola (Nov 10) and Mauro Picotto (Nov 24). As if that wasn’t enough you can catch the likes of Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice and Carl Craig at the Hoxton for their CNTL: Beyond EDM showcase on November 8. New club on the block Moskito (the new home of the Dynacord sound system once used at legendary Toronto club BOA) will host the infamous Sneak’s birthday beats with none other than Josh Wink and Doc Martin on November 3, having just opened the venue Halloween weekend with a Minus showcase featuring Matador and Hobo! Toronto’s underground is always special, but this November, expect MANY sleepless nights and pleasant mornings. See you on the dancefloor(s)!

All Gone Pete Tong at Caprice, Vancouver

BLUEPRINT’S industry series is about catering to the more refined sonic tastes within Vancouver’s dance music community, about abandoning the neon accessories and welcoming artists who align with the original vibe and mentality of house music. Long time industry icon and legendary host of BBC Radio One’s Essential Mix, Pete Tong is perhaps the picturesque representation of this feeling, with years of history behind the decks and an intimate knowledge of the roots of our scene, Tong appears at Caprice Nightclub alongside fellow Brit Eats Everything for a night of no requests, no teeny boppers, and no limits as these two wizards explore the deeper side of house music for the educated and intimate crowd that awaits them at Caprice. In what is surely the city’s unmissable house music event of the month, Blueprint scores yet another A+ booking in their staple Industry series. h where the party is sure to go full throttle for the hometown bass hero.
