Show Highlights:

The organisers at LuxLive have worked hard to create an excellent schedule of events at this year’s show. We take a look at some of the most exciting highlights this year…

EcoLight Theatre The EcoLight Conference is a special event dedicated to low-carbon lighting with a great selection of sessions planned. Sessions will feature a keynote speaker, best-practice exemplars and panel discussions. This year’s programme will include a look at the lighting system for the London Underground with its Head of Lighting, Shae Gilbert, and a discussion from Andy Sheridan, Services Facilities Manager at Manchester Airport, on the measures he’s taking to cut 25% of energy use by 2015.

The EcoLight Theatre will also host a special session on ‘Financing Your Lighting’, which is set to outline the various options available to fund low-energy retrofit lighting installations with contributions from Salix, the Carbon Trust, Thorn Lighting, and Lombard. Mini-presentations will be followed by a special panel discussion.

Design Clinic Live This special theatre, sponsored by Xicato, focuses on the creation of exciting and interesting spaces centred around energy efficient practices. Experts including top designers, retailers and consultants will share their insights, knowledge and expertise.

Sessions will include discussions on LEDs, lighting on a large scale and a look at the design concept and execution of the dramatic exterior lighting of the Shard with New York Lighting Designer George Sexton.

Design Clinic Live will also be hosting a tribute to pioneering Lighting Designer Jonathan Speirs, along with the official launch of Jonathan Speirs Scholarship Trust.
