recently opened a brand new showroom in Kings Road, London, and one of their areas of specialisation is the creation of exterior products that combine design and functionality. The company’s NIU and NIU LEDS families of outdoor luminaires have been specifically designed to help create street ambience in lighting projects. The NIU luminaire has been

designed for metallic halogen and high- pressure sodium lamps, and its threshold power falls between 35W and 150W. The NIU LEDS luminaire uses high-performance, neutral white LEDs to create an ambient and high-quality light output. Accessories for these ranges allow them to be installed in either columns or posts, in wall arms or in clamps for columns. Both the NIU and NIU LEDS families have models with roto-symetric optics and models with street optics. They are all IP66 rated and, thanks to clever design, suit a number of different aesthetics. The Shell Centre stands out as a landmark building along the Jubilee Gardens stretch of London’s iconic South Bank. Anolis ArcPad Xtreme fixtures have been installed as part of a

permanent installation to illuminate the front façade of the building. The scheme is part of a longer-term regeneration programme for the Jubilee Gardens area. Anolis fixtures were chosen for the

project because of their quality of light and cost-effectiveness. A total of just twelve ArcPad Xtremes were used for the installation, with various different optics. The ArcPads have been positioned and optimised to ensure that the full surface area of the Shell Centre is completely bathed in light. The Anolis fixtures produce an impressive saturation, which really helps the building to stand out after dark. The use of lighting to provide a safe and attractive illumination of spaces after dark is really important. The right levels of lighting can help to make a space feel much more secure, and can be used to improve the appearance of an area at the same time.
