horseracing, domestic football, tennis and Formula 1 are the sports catching people’s eyes, although it is also a big month for novelty markets with a slew of reality TV shows and the US Presidential Election.
W
ilsonbet is looking forward (with fingers crossed) to this autumn’s head-
line events. Key events for us will be The QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday 20 October where we will be entertaining our high-rollers and then turning our eyes to Califor- nia for the Breeders Cup meeting at Santa Anita on the evenings of 2-3 Novem- ber. Football punters will be entertained midweek with Champions League games, but it will be interesting to see how Manchester United cope with tough back to back Premiership fixtures when playing away to Chelsea on Sunday 28 October and then at home to Arsenal on the following Saturday. Big in-running customers will have our telephone traders reaching for their sweatbands during the tennis tours flagship season finales when the top

In what has been an extraor- dinary year for British sport, autumn plays host to some more potential highlights for punters to get stuck in to. The second Qipco Cham- pions Day takes place at Ascot, and once again the unbeaten superstar, Frankel, will be the main attraction as he bids to make it 14 wins from 14 runs. Further afield, the Breed- ers’ Cup returns to Santa Anita in early November, while the European chal- lenge for the ‘race that stops a nation’ looks stronger than ever, with Luca Cumani’s Mount Athos the current
Melbourne Cup favourite. A wide open F1 season reaches its closing stages; fresh from his historic US Open success, Andy Murray will be the main attraction at the ATP Tour finals at London’s O2 arena, while football fans have the usual feast to enjoy, including the Champions League group stages. And away from sport, reality TV fans are in for a treat, with X Factor, Strictly and I’m A Celeb all on our screens.

It’s a truly global period for betting with some show- piece horse racing events straddling the globe. At the start of November the Breeders’ Cup in Santa Anita will be, as ever, a huge event for us with optimism high regarding The Fugue’s chances in the Filly and Mare Turf.
There’s also the Mel- bourne Cup from Australia where the race favourite is Luca Cumani’s Mount Athos who is currently trading at around 8/1. The World Golf Champi- onships at the start of November in Shenzhen, China will be a cracking event not least because it will see many of the Ryder Cup stars from both sides reunited but this time in indi- vidual combat. It will also give us a glimpse of some of the upcoming Asian stars - Asian women showed a clean sweep of the golf Majors this year and we expect to see the emergence of the men in the region over the coming years.
NICK GRAY Trading manager BodogUK
The autumn is when foot- ball fever hits the shops, and we expect no different this year as the Champions
League throws up some huge clashes between Europe’s giants. Punters seem to have faith in Man- chester City, currently 12/1 to win at Wembley next May, and we have seen plenty of money over the counter for Mancini’s men.
The second British Champions Day on October 20 is set to be another busy day in the shops with the stars of the flat on show. Frankel could be a non- event for us from a betting perspective, but no one can doubt what this horse has done for the sport and will drive interest in wider racing to our non-racing customers. The flat season finishes with a flourish, and in the blink of an eye, Nick and the racecourse team will be standing at Chel- tenham for the Open Meeting.

Changes to third KPMG eGaming Summit
KPMG Isle of Man has announced that it will be holding its third annual eGaming Summit on the Isle of Man in 2012, once again bringing the sector’s major players together to discuss the Island’s role in this fast-paced international marketplace.
T
he third KPMG eGaming Summit will be held on Thursday 22 November 2012 at the Mount Murray Hotel on the Isle of Man and key stakeholders and deci- sion makers from the gov- ernment, eGaming operators, service providers and industry bodies will attend to discuss trends and developments in the online gaming sector. Russell Kelly, director
responsible for eGaming serv- ices at KPMG Isle of Man, commented: “As a fast moving industry, it is extremely beneficial to meet annually, particularly given the many challenges and oppor- tunities we face currently”
Summits have featured pre- sentations and panels on topics such as tax and regu- lation, security and fraud pre- vention, online payment processing, hosting and infrastructure and key market trends, amongst many others.

This year KPMG have chosen to make an addition to the format of the day, with ‘break out’ sessions running in parallel with the speakers in the main room. These smaller sessions will be in a more interactive, workshop style, with short presenta- tions followed by periods of open discussion, and will focus on technical aspects of interest to operators and
case studies designed to educate and advise those starting out in the sector. Another new element to this year’s summit will take place the night before, and features the support of a regular sponsor of previous summits, Celton Manx. It will host an invitation-only dinner at the Regency Hotel, which will bring together the chief minister, the gaming regula- tor and other key represen- tatives from Department of Economic Development to meet and debate with key summit delegates from both on and off the island. Archie Watt, head of eGaming for KPMG in the Isle of Man and Gibraltar, wel-
comed the addition of the pre-summit dinner: “The Department of Economic Development had signalled their desire to work more closely with us this year to attract to the summit opera- tors and potential start-ups who might be keen to learn more about the Isle of Man’s approach and strategy from those who already flourish in our business-friendly, vibrant environment. The dinner will provide a great opportunity for such individ- uals to meet with our key influencers and decision- makers, and the discussions which take place will be re- aired the next day in one of our panel sessions.”
