24 B 2 B Essential Guide to ... EiG 2012 CALLCREDIT INFORMATION GROUP ID verification more important than ever
Gavin Wright, business development manager at Callcredit Information Group, believes that operators face a big challenge in identity checks with each new jurisdiction requiring different standards.
Online gaming has seen signifi- cant growth levels in the UK over recent years and this rapid growth is set to continue as large proportions of new business shifts to international markets. With more and more companies taking a broader interest in the international market, a new set of challenges are brought with it. The biggest challenge being the different verification criteria required by each country - whether that is Spain, Germany or Australia - different regulators require different levels of ver- ification. Some regulators can be stricter and more robust than others, while some may rely more heavily on best endeav- ours only.
“
In newly regulated markets, the biggest challenge is verifying players quickly, maintaining KYC and Age verification in line with regulatory legislation and in ad- dition having a solution that provides a re-
liable detection against identity fraud. Manually checking customer details can be a lengthy process, more so for larger businesses, where obtaining various forms of identification and performing call backs to the customer to confirm their identity can be time consuming and as such vital resource is diminished away from combating fraud with the conse- quence of increased exposure. Such challenges are set to be amplified once the previously un-tapped US market begins to open up more fully. A wide vari- ety of regulatory requirements are emerg- ing as more territories move their online gaming agendas forward, which based on the current European model could see over 50 variations in age and KYC verifica- tion. Consequently the need for flexible, innovative solutions, which can cater for all requirements, is greater than ever. With the industry now international and set to grow even further as new mar-
kets such as the US open up, Callcredit understands the importance and need to deepen the level of insight from our inter- national data sets to ensure that our clients have the best possible tools avail- able to widen their customer base, verify players quickly, reduce the level of fraud and to satisfy local regulation emerging under new licensing regimes.
At Callcredit we hold data on 140 coun- tries and our international verification so- lution, CallValidate International is one of the best in the market in enabling identifi- cation of global players with ease. Verify- ing name, addresses and date of birth, the tool provides certainty using a ‘real-time’ check - helping to prevent identity fraud, unauthorised withdrawal of funds, ac- count takeover and money laundering. Such tools play a key role in ensuring that both the gaming operator and the con- sumer are protected from fraud, whether that’s at home or abroad.”

NET ENTERTAINMENT
Bringing innovation to Live Casino
Net Entertainment CEO Per Eriksson discusses his firm’s plans for mobile, live casino and what will be launched at EiG.
The UK is the biggest gaming market in Europe so it is clearly a major target area for us and we have been pleased with our progress so far, recently signing Boylesports to add to Sky Vegas and Sportingbet. We are in advanced dis- cussions with a number of other leading companies and we look forward to announcing more deals in the coming months. We continue to produce only the highest quality prod- ucts and we have seen an increasing demand for our games globally. We are confident that our products will become even more popular in the UK and our continued invest- ment in marketing, as well as our presence at trade shows, has helped us to boost our profile in this vital market.
Y
What can you tell me about your up and coming Live Casino product? We are very excited about the launch of Live Casino at the end of the year and, as with all Net Entertainment prod- ucts, it is going to be of the very highest quality. Live Casi- no is the fast growing games segment within online casi- no and our goal is to become the premium Live Casino supplier.
Our new solutions for infrastructure and live streaming will make the Live Casino experience even more interac-
ou’ve been eager to break into the UK market - how has that been progressing?
tive and although we are not the first to market, it is our aim to bring innovation to the Live Casino sector.
Do you believe that some of your own made games can now compete with branded slots?
Our mission at Net Entertainment is to drive the online casino market through better games and all of our content, whether branded or created and developed internally, is focused on quality and innovation.
The recognition and endorsement that well-known brands offer is clearly desirable but, without innovation and great gameplay, even the biggest brands can fail in the gaming sector. Net Entertainment has consistently deliv- ered the best games in the market and our focus on unique, original content puts us in the perfect position to drive rev- enues and growth for our partners.
Will tablets be the most important gaming device in the fu- ture in your opinion?
It is difficult to say whether tablets specifically will be the most important, but there is no doubt that the importance of mobile devices in general is only going to rise, and at a rapid rate.
Perhaps even more interesting is the increasing popular- ity of Android devices which have been eating into Apple’s market share, at least they were until the recent launch of
the iPhone 5. We made our portfolio of mobile games, called Net Ent Touch, available on Android devices this summer and we see excellent growth potential in both op- erating systems.
What are you going to be showcasing at EiG this year? We will be giving some exclusive previews of our upcom- ing platinum video slot, Elements the Awakening, which is the first of our games to be made in Flash 11. It will be re- leased later this year and promises to be another excellent addition to the Net Entertainment portfolio. We will also be showcasing our ever-expanding portfo- lio of mobile games which are available on both iOS and Android. At the end of 2011 we introduced our initial mo- bile offering and we have continued to invest heavily in mobile since then. We look forward to showing everyone our latest developments in this hugely important and dy- namic area of the industry.
