ISis to offer bookmakers a no-obliga- tion trial of the Virtual Betting Channel for up to three months following feedback from customers. The channel, launched just over a year ago, now offers around 200 events a day featuring horse and dog events, football, cycling, speedway and In- dyCar, plus games such as Minispin and SIS Lotto. Brent Dolan, director of operations at SIS Betting, said: “We’re making this spe- cial offer to help customers have a good look at the channel and see if it works for them. What makes it even better for shops is that ABetA is now able to take the data into the EPOS system and other suppliers are working on doing the same.”

Track Championship returns
B
AGShas revealed details of its second Track Championship following the success of the initial competition last win- ter. The total value of the competition, in- cluding prize money, travel allowances and trophies, will be in the region of £160,000. The inclusion of Peterborough in this
year’s competition, bringing the number of participating tracks to 18, means that there will be six groups of three tracks rather than three divisions as was the case last year. Each of the tracks will stage one quali- fying competition consisting of six differ- ent races, with each track supplying two runners per race.
The finals at Perry Barr will be held on Sunday 23 December, a day on which there is no horseracing in the UK. The competi- tion will kick off at Belle Vue on Wednesday 31 October when the Manchester track will play host to Nottingham and Sheffield. The last qualifiers before the finals will take place at Romford on Thursday 6 December when Peterborough and Yarmouth will be the visitors.
The qualifiers have been spread as equal- ly as possibly over the period, which is slightly longer than last year, to allow for re- covery time between races. There will be only one be one qualifying event on any given day. It is hoped that this will enable SIS and theRacing Postto maximise cover- age, trainers to trial intended runners, and bookmakers to build up betting interest.
How do online betting markets differ from retail?
Online betting markets differ from retail markets first of all by the nature of betting. In
this era of developing internet technologies, online betting markets are for those players who don’t want to waste time to go and place their bets in bet shops. In online betting everything is done in the virtual world of gaming: placing of the bets, watching the live video streaming and payment transaction. And the players can enjoy all this just by sit- ting in their houses. There is another option which has made online betting more conven- ient and which is developing very quickly, it is mobile applications allowing people to place bets by their mobile phone. The retail betting markets are now erro- neously regarded as ‘old fashioned’ but the thing is that retail markets are for the players who really enjoy the process of betting. They are willing to spend their time in the betting shops, where they can discuss the games with each other and place bets just on the spot. Another thing which is appealing in the betting shops is that the players enjoy giving cash to place their bets and receiving their winning by cash.
What differences are there in how you tackle
pre-match markets and in-play markets? The difference between these two markets consists in risk and danger factors. The prob- lem is that when tackling in-play markets the risk factor is particularly high because of fre- quent modifications of points. Each modifi- cation may significantly influence the re- sults. However, tackling pre-match market is much safer for the reason that the odds rarely change at all, if there is no extraordi- nary situation.
How long does it take you get a company up and running with an online sportsbook? Does it depend on local regulations?
In order to have an online sportsbook up and running the company should first of all ac- quire a gaming or gambling licence which de- pends on the local regulations of the country where the company needs to operate. If the company decides to co-operate with Bet- Construct, we can provide with up and run- ning white label website in just one week if the client chooses standard website design and longer (approximately one month) to have a specially designed website.
