VS Ltd, a UK based specialist of sports betting solutions, and Lot- sys SAS, a French specialist of lot- tery and retail solutions, have won

the international tender issued by the Israel Sports Betting Board(ISBB) in April 2011. The contract covers the supply of an internet bet- ting system with an option for an extension to replace ISBB’s overall betting system, for both retail and digital channels.

Zach Fishbein, chairman of ISBB, said: “We have made the choice of the modernity and flexibility with LVS and Lotsys. We have chosen partners that will keep ISBB at the cutting edge of technology and help deliver nothing but the best service to our customers.”

ISBB CEO Itshak Lary added: “This is a state of the art, robust, scalable and service oriented solution. It will attract new punters by enlarg- ing their options and offers.” Lotsys and LVS succeeded in this very tough competition by combining their comprehen- sive knowledge of the Lottery industry with a modern and open sports betting platform. Pascal Blyau, FDJ development director

and LVS managing director, commented: “We are proud that our subsidiaries have convinced such a demanding customer, this demon- strates that the market is now asking for a new generation of solution.”

Blyau explained that it is the second time

that LVS has worked with Lotsys: “We have de- livered a project together for the national lot- tery of Ivory Coast. LVS and Lotsys have skills which complement each other very well; LVS is a specialist for sports betting solutions while Lotsys is in lottery solutions with a very strong expertise in point of sales equipments. Lotsys also partners with Safran group, which manu- factures high quality gaming terminals. So each time we need to combine knowledge from the bookmaker and lottery worlds, or when we need to deliver a solution for retail we work with Lotsys.”

Blyau was particularly pleased with the deal given the competition the two firms faced to secure it. “ISBB issued an international ten- der and a lot of companies placed an offer. This was a very difficult process. We sent our response to the ISBB first tender for the provi-

sion of a sports betting platform for internet and mobile and then organised on their re- quest a three-day workshop to enable them to evaluate our solution and ask all the questions they wished.

“After this, four companies were shortlisted and an extension of the tender to provide a so- lution for retail distribution was also issued. We placed our second response and two com- panies were shortlisted. We were then asked to organise a pilot in Tel Aviv. We did it and demonstrated a multi-channel solution with our website and a Lotsys gaming terminal connected to LVS Advanced Betting Platform. We then went through a parallel negotiation stage and were told later that we were the pre- ferred bidder. Then we clarified the project scope through a statement of work exercise before signing the contract. It was a tough ex- ercise for sure!”

He added: “Our betting platform is modern, open and very sophisticated. We are flexible and have very talented people. I believe also that we manage to combine the pure player and bookmaker culture with the lottery culture.”

After an exhaustive tender, LVS and Lotsys are to supply the ISBB with a retail and online betting system.

policy, in conjunction with car fleet man- agement firm Zenith, which has seen a 38 per cent reduction in end of damage con- tract charges. Where the damage on a car is due to driver fault, the driver is charged £100 for logging a claim, or the cost of the repair if this is less than £100. If the driver fails to report damage and it is returned at the end of contract with damage they are charged £200. William Hill has introduced ad hoc inspections from the BCA, who check a random sample of vehicles each month. Any driver found with damage to their vehicle is hit with a penalty.
