Audi International Polo, Chester
After a nail-biting game, England lifted the trophy – beating South America with a fi nal score 8 to 8½ – at the fi rst ever Audi International at Chester
Racecourse, concluding the International Polo Series for 2012. T e unique and picturesque setting of Chester Racecourse welcomed more than 2,500 spectators – many of whom were introduced to polo for the very fi rst time - one of the many bonuses in bringing the
sport at international level to a new location. Richard T omas, Chief Executive of Chester Racecourse comments: “We are thrilled with the success of the day. We could not have wished for more – a
highly exciting game with glorious weather and an enthusiastic crowd. T ank you to both Audi and the Hurlingham Polo Association for bringing international polo to Chester”.
Hatfields Volvo Help Girls Up-Sticks to South Africa
Withington Girls Hockey Team has a new kit, thanks to sponsorship from Hatfi elds Volvo. Hatfi elds Volvo is supporting the girls’ hockey team and their tour of South Africa. Mhairi Ferrol, Head of P.E. at Withington Girls School showed gratitude by saying, “As a company the Hatfi elds name is well respected and we’re delighted to be associated with such a high profi le business. T eir support has proved invaluable in providing the new kit for the girls, which has come in time for our tour of South Africa.” T e Hatfi elds Group contains Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo and Hyundai marques with 11 dealerships throughout the North and Midlands. Gareth Williams M.D. said, “We believe it’s vital to be engaged in the local community, especially in an area where we have a presence. Helping young people is something we value and are thrilled to support Withington Girls School Hockey Team and wish them every success in their tour of South Africa. Maybe there’s a future Olympic star amongst the team!”
Hatfields Jaguar Unveil new apprentices
Six new after-sales apprentices have been selected for places at Hatfi elds Jaguar - and they’re all girls! T e girls won their places in competition with over 400 other high quality young male and female applicants. T e girls will be trained in all the specialist skills required to deliver the outstanding levels of after sales service for which Hatfi elds Jaguar are famous, starting with ‘meeting and greeting’ customers and ensuring that their Hatfi elds experience runs smoothly and seamlessly. Gareth Williams, Managing Director of Hatfi elds – the world’s oldest established Jaguar dealers – was surprised but delighted that all six successful candidates were girls, “T ese six young ladies were the pick of a very talented bunch, and came through the assessment clearly in front of hundreds of lads and other girls. T ough we didn’t have any gender preferences in the selection process, we believe that the girls will help our growing female customer base feel at home at our dealerships.”
