about managed marinated strawberries with a refreshing basil ice-cream. Te entire meal was a joy both to behold and to eat, and the attention that we were shown was incredible. After dinner we made our way to the Pop Bar opposite the pool and enjoyed a cocktail and listening to the rhythmic sounds of chilled lounge music. A great night’s sleep was the perfect end to a perfect day. In the morning my partner and I walked

LCD television and the room also boasts an exclusive private mini bar. I check my e-mails with the complimentary Wi-Fi on a lounge bed on our private balcony. For guests looking for true luxury there is a Private Butler Service so that any requirement can be met effortlessly. Butlers will assist you with every aspect of your stay and can provide private concierge services and introduce you to the hotel’s cigar service. On our stay Angela added a personal touch by introducing us to the chef who would be making our meal that evening.

Tere are two restaurants and three bars in the hotel. We choose the top floor EMOtions restaurant, an eatery based around the concept of a world of emotions. I have to say, looking out at the sun setting over the golf course and the lakes fits perfectly with this concept as it certainly brought a smile to my face. We could even see into Vilamoura from our romantic viewpoint on the balcony. Te atmosphere of the place is very special indeed. Te photographs on the wall, works of art by Adelina Lopes, are delicate and add a lovely dimension to the space. We sampled the chef ’s specially-prepared menu and were given complimentary wine with each course. To start I ate a humorously named ‘Flower

Power’ dish, a salad of flowers, sprouts, strawberries and delicious cured cheese. My partner was served a dish comprising octopus and melon, which sounded unusual but the flavours worked amazingly well. Ten we were served an artichoke risotto, samosas with coriander and a delicious fried codfish loin, which came with bell peppers and sweet potato with a hint of fennel. Following this was an incredibly succulent roasted lamb loin with quinoa, sunflower seeds and plums soaked in sangria. For dessert we just

over to one of the hotel’s pools and soaked up some sun before lunch, after which I made a visit to the Elements Spa by Banyan Tree. Here I enjoyed an hour long relaxing massage, a traditional Tai therapy which began with a salt exfoliation and shower. Te massage left me feeling incredibly peaceful and worry-free, releasing all of the tension from my body. Afterwards I was offered a herbal tea and some fresh fruit in the treatment room to energise me after the massage. Te spa also offers an indoor thermal experience, steam room, sauna and rain showers as well as a sun terrace to relax on. When I met my partner afterwards at the Chill by the Pool bar we shared a lovely fresh salad along with a couple of drinks. For guests who want to explore the area there is a shuttle service to the port of Vilamoura where there are lots of restaurants and interesting places to visit. In addition to this, the Tivoli Marina, the Victoria’s sister hotel, has recently opened Puro Beach, which is a lot of fun and very chic, and what’s more it’s only fifteen minutes from the Tivoli Victoria! Te Tivoli Victoria is a wonderful retreat,

stylishly designed and completely committed to not only meeting, but also exceeding, the high expectations of guests who will accept nothing less than the best.
