HOW TO SELL COLOMBIA
From The Front Line BRIAN HAWE
Product & Purchasing Manager, Travel 2 “We are seeing a return
of interest in the region and will include Colombia in our brochure for 2013 with a 12-day trip that includes Bogota, the Coffee Triangle, Cartagena and ends with a beach stay on the Caribbean coast in Tayrona National Park. “With regard to concerns over safety,
we have not seen any change in attitude from our clients – as always we advise then to be vigilant and to take note of the FCO advice on travelling.”
AMANDA SWEENEY Latin America specialist Rainbow Tours “We are seeing much
more interest in Colombia than we
were four or five years ago as it becomes a better-known destination. “It is not generally a destination for first time visitors to Latin America – most of our enquiries tend to come from clients who have travelled to the region before and are looking for something a little different. “The ground handlers in Colombia
are excellent and look after visitors throughout their trip. It’s easy to have a great two-week trip covering the major destinations – Bogota, the Coffee Triangle, Cartagena and the Caribbean coast – with no worries about safety. I travelled to Colombia last autumn and felt very safe there and found everyone extremely friendly and welcoming.”
