More than 350 manufacturers and 18,000 attendees are expected to visit the 133rd AES Convention. The show is set to get off to a strong start with multi- platinum record producer Steve Lillywhite CBE presenting the Keynote Address at the Moscone Center on 26 October. Also new for this year is the two-day Project Studio Expo, featuring practical training and an exhibit area focused on leading-edge project studio technology. Special Events include a rare screening of The Wrecking Crew, an almost impossible to find documentary about a group of elite session musicians in Los Angeles, California who played anonymously on many records in the 1960s, as well as the regular Graham Blyth Organ Concert. The exhibition, which begins the day after the conference, will feature products from AKG, BAE Audio, Lawo, Stagetec and more. See page 21 for more.
