Hire company NiteLites has invested in a large quantity of L-Acoustics speakers with the aid of light and sound finance company Azule. In total, Nitelites purchased 30 KARA and 16 ARCS loudspeakers, eight SB18 and 14 SB28 subwoofers, and 12 LA8 amplifiers to stock up for the summer festival season. A DiGiCoSD8 was used to mix a series of online ‘unplugged’ concerts in Turkey,earlier this year. The concerts were performed by five of Turkey’s brightest up-and- coming bands, chosen to target an audience of young internet users. They were mixed by Cagan Tunali who opted for the DiGiCo SD8 (with RME interface for the recording) because it effectively satisfied both his and the project’s requirements. www.digico.org

Kid Koala used a compact Allen & Heath iLive system to perform a live rendition of his latest album, Space Cadet. At the show, each audience member had their own set of Sennheiser headphones installed in individual inflatable ‘space pods’. The show used an iDR-16 MixRack and an xDR- 16 expander unit to cater for the large number of mixes required. “The show format requires a 32-channel mixer, which ordinarily would take close to four hours to set up venue to venue. However, with this Allen & Heath iLive system, we are essentially bringing our own console everywhere we go and it fits into two three-rack space
