WITH THE German government’s new television loudness requirements taking effect at the end of August, the Cologne Broadcasting Center (CBC) has purchased 100 TouchMoniter TM3 units (reviewed in last month’s PSNEurope) from audio metering manufacturer RTW. The order from CBC backs
up RTW’s report of strong sales of the TM3, which incorporates features from the larger TM7 and TM9 into a compact meter controlled by a 4.3” touch- sensitive screen. Andreas Tweitmann, CEO of
RTW, commented: “The TM3 has received wonderful feedback thus far, with a large number of

It was important to us to provide the broadcast community with a range of solutions, helping them to meet each of their country’s respective loudness regulations. We feel that the TM3 is a great tool to help our users achieve this goal.” Cologne-based pro-audio supplier Schmitronic provided the units for CBC. The first shipment was delivered in late May at the request of CBC’s head of post-production, Jürgen Mölders, to accommodate a staged installation. “CBC’s acquisition of the
