Argosy New studio and OB additions By Monica Heck

ARGOSY HAS introduced new additions to its studios and outside broadcast infrastructure range at the show this year.

Included in the line-up are the MIL26 and MIL41 stage boxes, the studio wall box and a new range of Neutrik opticalCON Advanced tactical fibre assemblies and associated SMPTE and Triax cable assemblies. The new range of MIL stage boxes is

available in two versions. The MIL26 are used for eight-channel audio cables while the MIL41 is used for 12 channels of audio. These can be wired as single input in parallel or as a straight feedthrough version. Made using Neutrik XLR’s, the

company said these robust but compact units were designed with harsh OB environments in mind, where they are used for the breaking out from multi-channel audio cables on to single Mic cables.

Hurricane shines in all weathers

By David Fox

THE JAB Hurricane, from Aadyn Tech, is a completely weatherproof (IP65 rated) LED light. It can also cope with operating temperatures of -20º to +50ºC. It is the latest version of

Aadyn Tech’s Jab series, and is based on what is claimed to be the most powerful compact LED light on the market, with an output of 1706 foot candles @ 3m, while consuming 1.77 amps of AC power @ 120v (187 Watts). Hurricane can run at full brightness on a single 30v DC battery pack for 1.5 hours. It is flicker free up to 14,000 frames per second. Special effects include frequency adjustable lighting and strobe. Quick-change lenses allow it to switch from spot to flood.

The new Argosy wall box was designed specifically for the production environment. It features cable entry points at the rear and base of the wall box, making it suitable for studio wall. It also has an angled lower section on

the front panel to ease the patching of camera cables into the wall box. This is to provide an optimum bend radius to minimise any strain on the cables and ensure reliable signal transmission. The Neutrik OpticalCON Advanced

fibre assemblies offer an end-to-end solution with rugged outer-jackets for harsh environments such as live event broadcast. The international supplier of high definition broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products explained the new additions to its range can be used to make operations more efficient and to reduce the cost and complexity of the live studio and outside broadcast environments. 10.C51
