Besat Broadcasting Systems Automate your camera tracking By Monica Heck
BESAT BROADCASTING Systems is showing AutoTrack, a camera tracking system designed to reduce the frustration that comes with a lack of control. Besat asks visitors to
remember a time when they tried to shoot a high profile scene while sitting on a dolly that was being pulled too fast or too slowly along
the rails by a third party. The company advocates taking full control of the dolly by using AutoTrack, which it says offers full manual and automated control of camera track movements. In manual mode, the
cameraman can use the pedal under his feet to adjust the speed of his movement back and forth on the tracks. In the automated mode, the speed and
acceleration can be programmed through a control panel. In addition to AutoTrack, Besat
also offers a full range of studio lighting and support systems. The range covers traditional tungsten and fluorescent studio fixtures as well as a new LED line. Besat also supplies manual and motorised pantographs and telescopes in addition to crane systems. 9.D26
who want to ensure that video parameters and focus are maintained during a shoot. The HDW7’s small and
lightweight enclosure houses a 7-inch In-Plane Switching screen and is said to offer vivid, clear pictures and a stable response time, displaying consistent and accurate colour from all viewing angles.
The adjustable clip level, under and over luminance and false colour capability is enhanced by the in-built clear and absolute waveform, RGB and vector traces. It has a HDMI input, a 3G, HD, SD SDi input and loop and headphone audio output and like other Hamlet products has a textured housing for better grip, handling and maneuverability. The smaller HDW5 provides the same features but in a lighter package. 9.D10

of new timecode hardware products and free iOS digislate app allows productions to sync picture and sound across all recording formats. The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity allows broadcast professionals to stream sample accurate timecode over Wi-Fi to up to 10 iPhones or iPads. “The Timecode Buddy system
gives sound recordists, mixers and camera operators a cost effective suite of products for their kit bags that can be used on every kind of shoot,” said Paul Scurrell, founder of Timecode Systems. Also being demonstrated on the Timecode stand is the new Timecode Sync plugin for the MovieSlate logging app. From creating accurate timecode stamps to logging sound notes, the collaboration between Timecode Buddy and MovieSlate allows any member of the production to wirelessly log and slate accurate TOD or TAPE RUN timecode significantly saving time and money in post production. 9.B20a
