TriCaster 8000 debuts in Europe By Carolyn Giardina
UNDERSCORING SECOND screen use and the need to deliver content to multiple broadcast destinations, TriCaster 8000 and the new line of TriCaster live production technology are being showcased at IBC by NewTek and its EMEA distributor, 3D Storm. The new line of TriCasters includes standard features such as Apple AirPlay support and NewTek’s IsoCorder multi-track recording technology. It also includes support for ‘virtually every’ nonlinear editing system, without the need for transcoding. The TriCaster series offers
realtime warping, making it possible to fly video away on a
cloth-like surface, or integrate warping video into transitions, with sound. The new, top of the line
TriCaster 8000 integrates as an instant publish and share on social media platforms feature. Content can be edited and published to any platform — including YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter — and also sent to an FTP server, during live production. Features include scalability with third-party router support, recordable macros that can be triggered simultaneously, and effects and graphics capabilities with eight M/E rows. The product line also includes
TriCaster 855, aimed at delivering big, live productions to on-air, projectors and the
web; TriCaster 455, for restricted space including small studios, production vans or control rooms; and TriCaster 40, an entry level product dedicated to webcasting. Also on display at IBC is
NewTek’s 3Play line of slow motion and replay systems. These include NewTek 3Play 425, a 6-channel (four-in, two-out) system; and NewTek 3Play 820, a 10-channel (eight-in, two-out) system. NewTek is showing its MINI
LiveMan, a live production system integrated in a MINI Countryman. Additionally, the company partnered with LiveU to showcase their technology in a live studio, on stand 14.365. 7.K11
THE NEW Skyline 70 levelling fluid head is designed to meet the current needs for lightweight sports, EFP and outside broadcast production rigs. Miller has designed it to support a diverse choice of camera configurations weighing up to 37.5kg and it fits tripods or
other supports with a 150mm ball mount.
The head uses a totally new counterbalance system that provides eight positions of adjustment to enable payloads from 4.5kg to 37.5kg at 125mm C of G to be perfectly balanced. Its drag system promises to
offer soft take-offs, smooth stops and well-balanced diagonal drag transition. The seven-position fluid drag ensures distinct incremental levels of drag resistance that is repeatable even in extreme temperature ranges. Other features include: easy-to-operate rear facing
