TVBEurope 63 IBC2012 Show Preview Illuminating IBC2012

The 1x1 LS maintains the same high quality, full spectrum soft light as Litepanels’ other 1x1 LED panel fixtures

By Melanie Dayasena-Lowe

A POWERFUL Luma On- Camera LED light and the 1x1 LS newest fixture in Litepanels’ 1x1 LED Panel series are being unveiled at this year’s show. The Luma daylight balanced on-camera light draws only 12W of power while providing the equivalent daylight illumination of a 50W HMI. Weighing only 3kg, the hot shoe-mounted Luma can easily be carried all day on a camcorder, at the ready whenever it’s needed. “The Luma represents Litepanels’ commitment to the on-camera LED lighting market that we created with the launch of the Micro Series back in 2002,” said Chris Marchitelli, Litepanels VP of Global Marketing. “It builds off our new sleek and ergonomic Croma design, and provides a high output version for professionals that only need a daylight balanced light.” Another new product is the 1x1

LS, which offers many of the features found in the popular 1x1 Mono panel fixtures, but at an entry-level price. The 1x1 LS maintains the same high quality, full spectrum soft light as Litepanels’ other 1x1 LED panel fixtures while removing the more studio-specific components to focus on the needs of location productions.
