New VP for Sony PSE
KATSUNORI YAMANOUCHI has taken over from Naomi Climer as vice president of Sony Professional Solutions Europe (PSE) business. Climer, who lead the PSE business for six years, has been promoted to a new global post within the Sony group. Based at the Sony Pictures studio lot in LA, she will lead the development of a new global business focused on the provision of media cloud services. Yamanouchi joined Sony’s Professional Solutions Group in 1989 and has gained extensive international management experience through roles in the European, US and Asia-Pacific regions. From 2003-9 he led Sony’s professional business in the CIS, MEA and German-speaking territories. In 2009, he returned to his native Japan, heading up the Planning & Marketing department, Content Creation Solutions Division.
SALAM MEDIA Cast has opened a new London office that will enhance its service offering to its well-established network of international clients. Salam Media Cast UK, the first of a number of offices Salam Media Cast (SMC) plans to open in new geographic locations, is headed byNiels Thomas, formerly head of Sales for North Europe at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. Thomas has previously worked for companies such as Omneon, Thomson and Grass Valley. “SMC is changing,” said CEO Paul Hennessy.“We are

Previously Head of Newsgathering Operations at the BBC, Turner was responsible for crewing, bureaux, technical innovation and satellite- based activities. Mark Christie has been hired as Chief Technology Officer of KIT digital. Christie co-founded the IP video solution provider ioko, which KIT digital acquired in 2011. Alex Blum, KIT digital’s Global Chief Operating Officer, has stepped down from his position and is currently acting as an advisor to the company during his transition.

Harmonic has announced key appointments to its executive team and board of directors. Peter Alexander is the company’s new senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Krishnan Padmanabhan, named senior vice president of video products, leads the management of Harmonic’s video product and solutions portfolio. Joining Harmonic’s board is Mitzi Reaugh, senior vice president, strategy and business development at Miramax. Harmonic’s Nimrod Ben-Natan now heads up the company’s new Edge and Access business unit as senior vice president and general manager. Amanda Dixon at IBC has been promoted to senior marketing executive. She has worked with IBC since June 2010, first on a temporary contract and then permanently as a marketing executive from November 2011.

The Studios, MediaCityUK has hired former Clear Cut Pictures MDPaul Austin as head of Post Production. He will be working closely with Head of Operations John O’Shaughnessy and CTO Paul Clennell. David Shepherd has joined Shotoku Broadcast Systems in the newly created position of EMEA sales manager, manual products. Shepherd is responsible for supporting current customers and developing new markets for Shotoku’s range of camera support systems. Snell has named Andrey Velichko as its head of sales for CIS and the Baltic region, a position that includes leadership of Snell’s Moscow office and primary responsibility for supporting and further developing Snell business in this territory. Trilogy Broadcast has appointedMark Ellis as head of its broadcast division, succeeding Barry Spencer who retires this month. Ellis has been with Trilogy for six years with responsibility for Trilogy’s other markets.
