TIESTO, LIV, MIAMI

THURSDAY JULY 5 TIESOTO, MEDNAS

Ah yes, the Magic City. So magical in fact, that birthday celebrations tend to last for weeks instead of days. We find it fitting then that the after party celebration for the country’s 236th b-day be at Miami’s premiere venue, LIV, whose name and brand have become synonymous with luring the biggest EDM talent on the globe and keeping them coming back for more – or permanently. Curated by Music Director Biz Martinez, Thursday’s at LIV has become an internationally renowned experience - a synergistic love affair between partygoers, DJs and venue that has led megastars to shamelessly tweet sonnets of love the morning after. June alone saw the likes of Fedde Le Grande, Ferry Corsten, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano, Dada Life and Chuckie, pass through its hallowed door. In that top tier of talent, very few challenge the reign of superproducer Tiësto, who not only has publicly declared Miami his US home, but moreover given the city and its energy a musical dedication in his Spring 2012 release ‘ClubLife: Vol.2, Miami.’ He holds a monthly residency at LIV, and has called the place nothing short of “amazing”. Now that’s what we call a birthday party afterparty America! This is not to be missed. Feel free to blow out champagne sparklers for a week straight, you have our blessing.

This 11th instalment of Camp Bisco is stacked with something for every mudslinging music fan. Making return appearances are dubstep royalty members Skillex and Bassnectar, there are DJ sets by Bonobo and Simian Mobile Disco, and live electronica from the likes of By Gigantic, Yacht, Lotus, and Holy Fuck. BigBoi, Atmosphere, and Break Science featuring Chali 2na are a few acts bringing some hip-hop love for those that want to bring the BPM’s down a touch. Moderation never hurt anyone and its hot up at Indian Lookout kids. New this year with a big two thumbs up is the Fools Gold Clubhouse, which will be making appearances at various festivals around the country. Curated by A-trak & Nick Catchdubs, the Camp Bisco edition will showcase Craze, JWLS, Codes and Mr. MFN eXquire. Sensory overload in the wild while camping with 25K+ of your closest friends euqals good times. But as the owner of the property requests via the festival’s website, please don’t urinate on the neighbors lawns. We concur.
