Vegas baby! DJ Mag team up with Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub
To celebrate our arrival in the US of A, DJ Mag is throwing a succession of parties in Las Vegas. The enormous events, at the Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub, situated at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in the popular Nevada gambling haven, began on the long Labor Day weekend, one of the biggest event in EDM’s social calender. You can read our full coverage of the highs and highers, which included trance titans Above & Beyond, the DJs’ DJ Danny Tenaglia and four-times Top 100 DJs poll winner Armin van Buuren, on pages 70 and 71. “We decided to team up with DJ Mag because it’s an iconic EDM brand, period,” says Morgan Deane, Director of Marketing at Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub. “There are few media or lifestyle brands more synonymous with EDM than DJ Mag.”

The EDC week and DJ Mag parties are symptomatic of the massive explosion of dance music in America in the last couple of years, the reason that you’re reading this very magazine. “EDM is absolutely everywhere in mainstream media now and is becoming a standard cultural touchstone,” Morgan observes. “The explosion in Vegas of nightlife in general and dance music specifically has really pushed things to the next level.” The Marquee covers 64,000 square feet, has an enormous 40ft LED screen and a pumping Funktion One soundsystem, with the likes of Chuckie, Kaskade and Sander van Doorn all playing there. It polled at No.11 in DJ Mag’s 2012 Top 100 Clubs poll (which you can read in full from pages 36 to 62), a massive jump of 69 places,

thrusting it into the higher echelons of the world’s top clubs.
