MIRRORING THE success of its retail SKU, the PC edition of ROCKSTAR GAMES’ Max Payne 3has debuted at No.1 on the Steam chart.
The action shooter has been a mainstay as a pre-order in the digital store’s Top Ten for several weeks now thanks to promotions offering exclusive DLC and free copies of the previous two Max Paynetitles.

In addition to its Max Paynesuccess on Steam, Rockstar also shook up the iOS charts with its Grand Theft Autotitles. GTA III: 10th Anniversary Edition rose to No.1 on the Paid iPad charts, and No.3 in the Paid iPhone charts. It is Take-Two’s biggest-selling iOS title to date. Chinatown Wars also made an appearance, re- entering the iPad Top Ten at No.4.
Another regular across the mobile devices was Cut The Rope. The game’s Experimentsexpansion topped the Free iPhone charts, while the original took No.1 on Android.

Another chart regular, Torchlight II, loses its crown as the most pre- ordered title as a new expansion pack for Sid Meier’s Civilization V approaches release. 2K GAMES’ Gods & Kingsis in at No.4 and is due for release on June 19th.
Civ V’s Game of the Year Edition dipped slightly to No.5 – pushed down by the reappearance of Saints Row: The Third. The over-the-top THQ crime sim was part of Steam’s most recent weekend sale, with 66 per cent slashed off the main game and further discounts made to its DLC.
