• coldplay dress as elephants Music to my (g) ears

Following CRC’s appearance in Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’ video, the UK’s own pop supremos Coldplay have been getting in on the bicycle action. For their video of Paradise, the, er, elephant lead character rides a Boris Bike in his

escape from a zoo. The elephant then flees the UK and promptly lands up in a bike shop, where he is seen ogling a Schwinn and Morewood. Lacking the required funds, the elephant ends up with a unicycle (we’re not making this up). But hasn’t he heard of finance? So, do any bike companies think they can trump that (sorry) with an appearance in a pop video? Let us know at bikebiz@intentmedia.co.uk. Thanks to ATG Training for their eagle-eyed Coldplay-watching skilz.

Pilgrim and Fielder riding the stunning landscape

Pilgrim progresses to Iceland with Veho

Chris Martin in an elephant suit?

Action camera brand Veho took Sam Pilgrim and Grant Fielder on a bike tour of Iceland to launch its new community website ‘No Proof, No Glory’. Established as a community for people to view and share their content on the Veho MUVI HD, the site will also feature interesting activities and locations from the MUVI Athlete team. Pilgrim and Fielder got the film rolling, if you will. We didn’t get to see the moving pics as the site hadn’t launched at time of press, so we made do with these eye-catching shots instead. www.veho-uk.com

Flintoff in £2m slam ride with Dallaglio

Facebook fight!

Online cycle retailers fight it out, Facebook style…

Lawrence Dallaglio and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff will be riding Boardman Performance Series Road Pro Carbon bikes – supplied by Halfords – for Cycle Slam 2012. The retailer will also supply a team of mechanics to provide tech support and repairs when the sporting celebrities undertake the 22-day charity ride. Cycle Slam involves five non-stop stages across Europe, starting on St George’s Day (April 23rd, of course), with a view to raising over £2 million for the Dallaglio Foundation, which supports Cancer Research UK.
