Cycling 2012 starts here
2012 will be a Year of Cycling, says the ACT, kicking off with one of the largest cycling consumer show events. ACT will be ensuring that IBDs are represented, so why not join them?
WORKRIDERS, the new, retailer friendly cycling to work programme launches at The London Bike Show at ExCeL, January 12th to 15th. The event has been extended this year, with
one ticket giving consumers access to four shows – the Outdoor Show, The Active Travel Show, the London Boat Show and the London Bike show. Over 70,000 people attended last year and
the increased audience expected in 2012 provides the ideal opportunity to meet with a large number of employees interested in outdoor pursuits, encouraging them to engage their employers in the cycling to work programme in 2012. ActSmart’s Tony Jones said: “Through our attendance at the Cycle Show in Birmingham we found that many employees had no knowledge of the cycling to work initiative and of those that had, a significant number were unhappy with the way it had been implemented within their business. This event will showcase WorkRiders to a large, relevant audience as the only ACT endorsed route to cycling to work.”

CYTECH TECHNICAL Central to the London Bike Show will be a Cytech Technical Area and a programme of Cytech presentations on the Cycling Stage. ATG Training will be educating cyclists on
the value of bicycle care and repair and the benefits of using a Cytech Accredited retailer for bicycle maintenance. The Cytech stand will be the place for those
wanting to enter the trade and will see the launch of the Cytech Apprenticeship Programme. If you’re a business owner and want to

TAKE A DAY OUT The ACT encourages IBDs throughout the UK to take a day out and visit ExCel. It’s a consumer event, but with four shows in one there’s lots for any individual interested in outdoor pursuits to enjoy and it’s always worth seeing what’s going on in your industry first hand. All IBDs and suppliers are invited to the
