to multi-national clients in relation to licensing, franchising, protection and registration of IP, particularly with regard to brands and various forms of copyright. Members of the firm are familiar with IP rich industries such as for luxury goods, media, broadcasting, fashion designing, alcohol, tobacco, FMCG, software etc. and experienced in conducting extensive due diligences and audits in these sectors and are thus equipped to render advice of real commercial value.
Purnima Singh The firm advises on the management
and protection of clients IP portfolios and advises on and negotiates various agreements pertaining to the development, protection and exploitation of IP. Members of the firm have advised on media and entertainment laws, trade secrets, designs, domain names and aspects of cyber laws and advertising norms and codes. The team has extensive experience in negotiating media contracts such as film financing and film production agreements, television series and pilot production, photography exhibition agreements, talent agreements, artist consent letters, sound recording agreements, film distribution agreements, publisher and author’s agreements etc., and advising on related issues like personality and image rights and rights of publicity. Members of the firm have advised on devising strategies on domain name disputes and advised in actions against cyber-squatters including through dispute resolutions at WIPO and at the .IN Registry. The firm is a member of the IBA,

Purnima Singh was admitted to the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa in 1999 and was enrolled as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 2002. She practices general commercial law specialising in IP and media and entertainment law. She negotiates transaction terms and drafts IP agreements and related documents for clients in various industries such as hotels, FMCG, media and entertainment, publishing, software etc. Purnima’s experience includes advising on issues related to trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, designs, domain names and aspects of cyber laws, including advising clients for alternate dispute resolution at the WIPO and .IN Registry, and devising strategies and advising clients for anti-counterfeiting measures including raid actions.
