AGENCY Mother has again been voted the commercial producers’ favourite client after sharing the top spot with W+K last time. The agency, behind spots like Ikea Kitchen, directed by Academy’s Kim Gehrig and Ikea Cats, directed by Stink’s Adam Berg is admired for its “creative excellence” and for “pushing boundaries” but also for its move into “new frontiers of longform work and different platforms for their clients.” BBH moves into second place after coming third last year in the poll. The agency, responsible for spots including the Axe’s Angels directed by Rupert Sanders, is chosen for “finding great form of late.” Only just behind BBH is the three year old Adam & Eve in third place which picks up votes simply for “winning so many accounts” but also for being “always on it”, its “strong creative output” and for “embracing digital and new media creatively and effectively.” Last year’s joint winners of the top agencies poll, W+K (“consistently high creative”), drop down to this year’s fourth placed agency despite coming up with ads including Nokia’s Dot directed by Aardman’s Sumo Science and Stink director Martin Krejci’s Lurpak ad. AMV BBDO (“old-school but fantastic culture and great advertising”) drops from fourth last year to fifth this time and DDB (“consistently high quality output”) drops from fifth to seventh.

POST It’ll come as no great surprise that it’s still the same big three facilities occupying the top three positions in both the commercials producers’ most used and highest rated post houses polls. The Mill, admired for its “excellent creative work” and for housing “some of the best talent in the industry” has taken the top position for the second year running as the commercial producers’ highest rated post house and again takes top spot in the most used post house poll, though this year it shares that podium with MPC. MPC takes the second spot in the most rated poll once again. Framestore, which picks up votes for its “great character animation” and “fantastic operators” has stayed in the same position in both polls as last year, again voted in at number three. Glassworks (“highly creative and never lets you down”) has kept hold of its fourth place as the commercials producers’ top rated post house and moves up two places in the most used poll. Rushes is again the fifth highest rated post house - “we love Joce” says one of its voters – and Prime Focus (“a big house that appears to care”) is sixth in the most rated poll (down slightly from equal fifth last time). Three post houses occupy the seventh position in the most rated poll – Absolute, Finish are back in the ten once again and for the first time in the 10 most rated, Big Buoy.
