More efficiency from Takeuchi
Takeuchi has launched its TB285 excavator, an 8.5 tonne replacement for the 7.5 tonne TB175 which, according to the manufacturer, proved popular with hirers who needed to add a larger model to their fleets to meet customer demand. The reduced tail swing machine is claimed to provide a 10%
increase in breakout forces and its turbocharged engine is designed to produce more torque with reduced emissions. Takeuchi says a more efficient hydraulic system has been incorporated, and hoses have been repositioned for better protection. The air-conditioned cab has also been re-styled to provide increased leg and foot room.

Avant Tecno has introduced a new cab and a digger arm for its larger machines. The model 260 lightweight digger can be fitted to any 600 or 700 Series model. It offers a maximum dig depth of 2600mm and incorporates two independent
cylinders for boom slewing in place of the single cylinder and chain driven system of the outgoing 220/250 version. In addition, the support legs are now hydraulically adjustable from the operator’s seat. The new DLX cab is designed to offer a roomy working
environment, with reduced sound levels and large windows for improved all-round visibility. Air conditioning is incorporated, as well as an air suspension seat for operator comfort.
