he second edition of Cityscape Riyadh is just a few short weeks away and will once again gather some of the top developers,


investors, and financial service institutions, providing a key platform for advancing Riyadh’s urban development agenda for the next few years. Taking place from 11th – 13th December, Cityscape Riyadh will bring together real estate industry professionals from across the region under one roof. Following up on the phenomenally successful launch event in 2010, Cityscape Riyadh has relocated this year to the Riyadh exhibition centre (King Fahad Road), grown to more than 9,000 square metres of occupied space and will showcase projects and services from more than 100 exhibitors. Alongside the exhibition, Cityscape Riyadh will also feature the Riyadh International Urban Development and Real Estate Investment Summit, and for the first time, the World Architecture Congress. Te conferences are designed to facilitate discussion of the latest topics in real estate and architecture respectively, whilst giving the opportunity to learn from some of the most sought-after speakers in the industry. Te gathering of some of the most influential figures in real estate design, development and investment offer a unique opportunity to meet, network and create invaluable and long lasting business relationships. As a prelude to the upcoming event, this edition of the Cityscape magazine focuses on some of the major projects currently taking place in Saudi Arabia, including Kingdom Tower which is set to become the world’s tallest building by 2017. We also explore some of the major issues currently affecting the Saudi Arabian real estate market such the highly anticipated mortgage law and the drive to deliver large scale affordable housing projects. Saudi Arabia’s commitment to delivering a world-class infrastructure is also moving ahead at breakneck speed with road, rail, air and seaport projects jostling for space alongside groundbreaking power and energy initiatives as the country maps out its future economic potential. In this edition, we also take a look at the investment climate in Saudi Arabia, and the reported US$600 billion worth of investment opportunity that is up for grabs in the Kingdom between now and 2020. With the country leading the region in the World Bank ease of doing business rankings, it’s attracting increasing interest both on the home front and from abroad, making Cityscape Riyadh 2011 an essential destination for real estate professionals, developers and investors. Tis year we are also pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative – the addition of our dedicated exhibition business matching service.
