BESPOKE CLOTHING Helping customers to transform ideas into reality P

ersonalisation of clothing has long since been regarded as a key requirement to the development of a strong brand image, and a sense of identity. To meet increasing demand from customers for bespoke clothing, Blue Max Banner now has two specialist offices, each dedicated to the creation of Made to Order (MTO) lines. The Blue Max Banner office in Seaham handles MTO blazers and the office in Nottinghamshire is devoted to all other MTO including knitwear, teamwear, workwear and schoolwear (excluding blazers). Both offices are staffed with a highly skilled team, each with several years of experience in the industry and always on hand to listen to and interpret customersʼ requirements.

Our own in-house design team can offer customers the latest CAD service. Blue Max Banner has developed an excellent relationship with its global network of suppliers enabling us to meet any special order requirement. Customers can choose from a multitude of different options, from the simple embellishment of a stock item right through to the production of a unique product range.

They can select from our current extensive range of fabrics, colours or

style options or they can create their own to suit their requirements. For teamwear, Blue Max Banner can adapt any of their Medallion sportswear range or Blue Max sweatshirts, including the popular Hooded style, to an individual requirement whether it is with numbers, names or piping.

The company can match any colour with its Made to Order Rugby Shirt range from

its extensive stock colours or can achieve specific colour combinations and individual designs in stripes or panels. ■ For more information contact the Blue Max Banner Seaham office for blazers on 0191 581 3823;

An Original approach to bespoke garment supply T

he biggest part of the printwear and embroidery trade remains stockholder supplied and Prestige Leisure is firmly in the Premier League when it

comes to that. Increasingly, customers are looking for something

different or simply have a big enough bulk purchasing requirement on fairly standard products to warrant special purchasing and shipment with the cost benefits this can give.

This is just where sister company and bespoke specialist Livingstone International comes in. ʻLivingstone Originalsʼ is the title of the program that Livingstone uses to describe what they do precisely because the products they produce are just that, for Original people and Original companies. Enquiries are handled from customer designs, descriptions or a sample and are processed to a selected manufacturing partner for counter costing and sampling.

Manufacturing lead times vary with the time of year, the source location and the particular product type, factories all have their peak seasons which have to be worked around. Variable shipping times and widely varying costs have to be added to any manufacturing timescale. Lead times can be shortened by air freighting but at considerable additional expense, so good advance planning is always the most economic approach. Livingstone production offices are located at our own large factory in Pakistan, in Bangladesh and China

where orders and shipments are quality controlled and all aspects of shipping monitored by our own staff and offices. Price, quality and delivery are paramount. The company offers a very much ʻcan doʼ approach with any type of enquiry handled on almost any kind of product, but primarily in all things textile. We have yet to be asked for something we cannot make and now operate the same service for customers in different continents as well.

Prestige Leisure are finding that all kinds of customers are now looking for their own ʻOriginalsʼ solution be they for event, fashion, corporate or sportswear use, or for bulk in the general printwear sector where original product can give a unique look and feel as well as enhancing margin and competitive opportunities in a very competitive market. Many companies offer a ʻcolour by numbersʼ approach to polo shirt design but Prestige via the expertise at Livingstone offers a lot more than this in many more products.

The advantage of using a company like Livingstone International is that newcomers to ʻoriginalʼ product can avoid the pitfalls of receiving a container of garments with two right sleeves or maybe just a simple hold up through language difficulties or documentation problems. Experience counts for everything in overseas sourcing and Livingstone International has that in abundance. ■ For more information call 0800 652 1244, email sales@prestigeleisure.com or visit www.livingstoneinternational.co.uk
