ROUND-UP BPA NEWS

Reading the signs

Te Barometer Survey is a tool by which Asset Skills – the Sector Skills Council for facilities management, housing, property, planning, cleaning and parking – is gathering information from employers to feed back to the government. Until recently

information about the sector was provided through analysis of official data sources and research projects but it is hoped that the Barometer Survey will provide richer intelligence and deeper

understanding of the sector. Tis will inform subsequent actions and initiatives to drive up skills and productivity. Employers are being

urged to take part in the ongoing survey that seeks to establish solid data on levels of investment in skills and company performance. Te survey is in phase

with Asset Skills on phase two. More employers are

now being sought for phase three. Under the process,

data and intelligence is initially collected during an interview with Asset Skills. Information from the questionnaire is then collected on a six monthly basis by telephone.
