Treatment programmes

The primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which includes Relational Neurobehavioral Therapy.

The timescales are based on the average stay being around 18 months. Table 1 lists the initial assessment period for determining a patient’s current neuro-cognitive status. Table 2 lists the possible interventions for a patient after the assessment period. It should be noted that specific care pathways will vary from patient to patient based on their identified therapeutic and rehabilitation needs and goals. Progress and outcome evaluation occurs on a continuous phased basis and is considered a developmental exercise with high patient involvement.

Brain injury treatment programmes are based on a dual focused evaluation. The first charts progress; the second profiles the views, suggestions and preferences of our patients.
